Hello fellow Versa owners, I'm a new member here and I love what you guys have done to the forums, keep up the good work.

I have a question about the service agreement to my Versa. It's currently under a 2 year / 40,000 miles plan and it seems that I can't do anything to it.

I was planning to add a strut bar and cold air intake but not break this agreement, and if I'm correct, it doesn't say anything about it.

It states that only these are not covered:

"Paint, exhaust system, carpet, glass, upholstery, soft trim, weatherstripping, covertible soft top, moldings, bright metal, clutch disc, pressure plate and throw out bearing (manual transmission), any and all in-vehicle communication systems, air bad sensors, conversion of the air conditioning system to operate on R134, battery, lenses and bulbs, tires, brake drums, disc brake rotors, wheels, MacPherson strut inserts, shock absorbers, squeaks, rattles, water leaks, wind noise, immobilizer key, and remote keyless entry switch assembly."

Nothing mentioned about a strut bar or cold air intake.

So has anyone added anything, such as an exhaust system, while under this agreement? Is it recommended to do so and hope that nothing happens?

Thanks.

A dealer has to be able to prove that a mod you installed created a given failure in order to void your warranty.

But if you want to be on the safe side, keep all your stock parts and put them back on before you take your car in for service.

It looks like you're talking about the actual service plan, not the factory warranty. I bought one of those too. It's basically paying up front for your routine preventitive maintenance and having it added to the loan. I did it because it always seems like my car always needs an oil change or an air filter when I'm broke. Anyways, noting that you do to the car would void your service agreement. They'll do the maintenance regardless of what you add to the vehicle, however, they will not do any maintenance on the parts you add or to any part on your vehicle that is interfered with by parts you installed (for example they probably won't rotate your tires if you put aftermarket wheels and tires on it.)

Ah thanks for clearing that up! I just hope that when I install a cold air intake, nothing bad will happen

Depends...we do.

I have had to rotate so many chrome wheels on Titans it isn't even funny.

Nothing you add to your car will keep the dealership (at least ours, can only speak from experience at mine, a Honda dealer, and a BMW/Mini dealer) from doing the maintenance. Adding neons to the bottom; however, will make it a PAIN to rack.
