Hi, I'm new here, but my Nissan ( Datsun) experience goes back to the very first 510 Sedans/ Wagons imported to the USA. I had a '68 510 Wagon that I bought used in 1971, and a '71 Sedan that i picked up a few years later.

I've searched the forum, but couldn't find anything on replacing the Serpentine belt. Got over 70,000 miles on the original belt, and think its time to replace it before I get stranded. Dealer quoted over $200.
Looks looks I need to support the engine and remove the upper/ front engine mount to get access.
Is that right?
Is there a link to the repair procedure?
How much time does it take?

Thanks

Thanks!

I was posting for my son; he has the Versa. He got a dealer quote of over $200. SInce he had just done thenserpentine belt on his wife's Camaro ( a 5 minute job) he bought the belt for the Versa. Then he and I looked at the Versa engine compartment. It looked like you would need to support the engine and remove the upper engine mount. There is very little room for hands--maybe you can remove the RF wheel and gain access thru the inner fender. I don't know--that's why I asked here for info, but to no avail.
He ended up having an indy do it. He got an oil change, some other minor service and the belt installed for about $120.

He makes his living with his hands ( professional musician) and didn't want to risk it with the marginal clearances.

Changing the belt on the Versa is very simple. U take the innfer fender cover off and u will see the tensioner pulley. U put a wrench on it and push it and it loosens belt pops off. I did mine in about 15 minutes including taking the wheel and fender off
