I do believe in preventative maintenance, but the belt LOOKS fine, no major cracks like I've seen in other belts like on the 05 G Sedan we had.
SO, when should I change it??
How many miles have ya'll put on them?
Anybody have one just break?

I'd go ahead and do it...cheap enough to do at 60-80k miles.

agreed....will prob do before taking any trips this summer. Had a serpentine on my cobra that I replaced at 90K+ and it looked good too...
Would rather replace in the driveway than halfway somewhere...

Belts are inspection items after 60K miles/4 years and every 15K miles/1-yr thereafter. But I also check them every oil change. I didn't have a chance to replace the belts in the G35 as it was totalled before being due. I did replace the belts in the M35 at 90K miles when I noticed small cracks.

Stopped by my local Lake Norman Modern Nissan to get a serp. belt. Have been getting great deals and discounts since they opened in 2003.
NEW GM...... :squint:
The parts guy appologized for the new price due to the new rules set by the NEW GM..... $75....I blew a gasket.
Went to my local NAPA where I get an employee price due to the company I work for.
Gates belt...normally $36, got it for $24.
Very disappointed in this new GM at Modern Nissan of Lake Norman.
He has fired the parts manager and one of the managers that has been there since it opened has left. :frown:
oh well

Just hit 70k so that's something I'm needing to look into.

I went back and talked to the new Part Manager at my local Nissan.
Explained how we have bought numerous cars from the dealership over the years and how they always gave me discounts on parts. He said that he would always give me 20% off going forward, so that sounded good to me. :)
Really only get filters and belts from them for the most part.

As for changing the serpentine belt, was a minor pain. None of my 1/2 inch breaker bars or 1/2 ratchets would fit in the space.....without forcing the fan assembly back a bit. Otherwise, EZ.
So, on my list of tools to get is the serpentine belt tool....NAPA has a complete set for 40ish, but I only need the 1/2 inch so might check EBAY.

Yeah, mine may have made it to 100K, but since so cheap to change, no need to chance it with some summer trips coming up.

I may do mine when I change the plugs in a few weeks. Nothing better to do :)
