hey everyone, my truck recently developed a belt squeek at cold idle, and went away when warmed up. But today its actually been squeeking even when warmed up. I tried adjusting the belt, the thing i don't know is how do you know when its to tight?? I loosened the nut on the idler and tightened the bolt for the adjuster but it doesn't seem to be tightning. any ideas.. thanks

I with you on that. I'm getting that squeaky annoying noise from the belts. I 've been told to check the tensioner - I call the auto parts store they are telling me that it is spring loaded and that are no adjustments therefore they will need to be replaced. They said it is a dealer only part. Apparently there are two tensioners (AC Compressor & Alternator) around $85/each at the dealer. I think I might change the belts first, $10/each at PepBoys - just to see what happens.
