My dad asked me to change the left headlight in my mom's 2001 Maxima GLE.

I've read all of the instructions but I've never done work on a car before and, frankly, I'm scared of electrocuting myself.

What I fear most is having to disconnect the battery negative wire.

I've never taken auto maintenance classes nor have I taken classes related to electrical wiring.

I'd really appreciate assistance.

:EDIT: Never mind. My dad is going to show me how to do it later.

You don't have to disconnect anything, just pop the bulb out and put a new one in. And don't disconnect the negative if you have to do any real maintenance, unhook the positive. Finally, your body isn't conductive enough to be electrocuted by a 12 v car battery.
