Hey guys! New to the forum,

My pathfinder has been a little sick lately. This issue only happens intermittently but is always almost there. Basically i can come to a stop after the truck has warmed up and been driven for a while and it will act as if i have my foot on the gas. I can put it in Park and it will either hold idle at 1800RPM or bounce between 1500 and 2000RPM :wtf2: . If you floor it and let off when its in park it will stop and return to normal idle. The shop cleaned the throttle body and recommended me to change the throttle cable but i dont think thats the problem. PLEASE HELP ME :ohno: ! Thanks!

EDIT* No SES trouble codes either. Figures the only time the light IS NOT on there is a problem.

That sounds like a vacuum leak. I would double-check the intake tube and make sure everything is air tight.

First thing that came to my mind. Anyone know what areas I should check other thats the intake tube?

Yep been there done that. It was a long battle for me. I would jab the throttle a few times and it would finally calm itself down. For me it would happen after long drives. I would be at a stop light and could feel the truck trying to take off. If I put it in Neutral the revs would bounce between 1,500 and 2,000. Jabbed the throttle and it would come back down. If you unplug the Throttle Position Sensor while its running fine it will do what I described. I replaced the Throttle Position Senor and all has been good for Months now! The TPS is located on the Throttle body and is facing the Firewall. It has two connectors.

This topic is a bit dated but PM goes a long way toward that idle issue. The TPS with all its switches often becomes intermittent because of a very fine dust. It needs both sides of the connector cleaned, blown and made and contacts broken, by pushing together the connector and taking apart. Then finally blow the contacts dry, verify dry, then button up and clean this connector every summer. Along with all other connectors in the engine bay.
