series 2 question

Just a couple of quick questions guys I just started working on a series 2 swap but I just have a couple of quick questions. Now before I get flamed I have searched and what I wanna know r the wire colors the same as a s1 and what ia thia red wire everyone is talking about I have been following the walkthrough in the tech section and I see nothing about a red wire I have read its for the check engine light but not sure. Any help will be appreciated thanks guys
