This is for a friend of mine he will be making an account after we complete this rebuild  .

i am rebuilding my redtop sr20det money is tight being a college student. my goal is around 300whp dailydrifter.I was wondering about running 86.5mm ser pistons (not forged) i know the compression will be higher. Im aiming for 9:0.1 compression. I am boring out .020 over due to cylinder wall damage. I have a few questions about the piston and oil squirter clearance, timing, and of course fuel. If i run this setup i will invest in a methanol injection to help prevent detnotation. Does anyone have experience with these pistons?

Parts i already have:
new sr20 crank with bearings
forged eagle h-beam rods
oem full gasket kit(i wont be using oem headgasket because of bore so headgasket and oem piston rings are forsale)

parts up next:
arp head studs
87mm or 86.5mm mls headgasket ( ill be running 86.5mm bore can i run 87mm hg?)
86.5mm ser pistons

Thanks!

You can fef, use a 87mm hg. (actually fits perfect on a 86.5 bore). As for the pistons, I'm almost sure that the skirts will clear the squirters but id they don't its not that much for a machine shop to grind some of the skirt and balance it. The ser pistons are actually 9.5-1 to if you are wanting to go lower that that, a thicker hg or work to the quench pads might be mandatory. (I've always wanted to do 1mm oversized valves to compensate for ser pistons). As far as timing and fuel I'm running a jwt ecu, 50lbs injectors, and cobra maf at 1.3 bar on 91 octane on my ser. (yes, I have a sr powered fwd and rwd, lol). My ser still has stock internals except for the b13 intake cam and holds just fine.
