Merry Christmas. I hope the reserve isn't too high. Kind of weird you say this today. I found this by accident last night. Ikeya is the only company I've ever seen make these.

From watching the video it looks like '0' is neutral.. and pulling down is shifting into 1st, 2nd, etc. So reverse is above '0'..

Seems the opposite of a motorcycle shift pattern. AWW! I wanna drive a car with one now. Definetely a little more clutch usage on downshifting, but it looks like it goes so damn quick!... so maybe not. I'll bet it's super easy. :P

Too bad that one on ebay is for an SR.

IT SHOULD WORK FOR BOTH.

THE TAKA-KAIRA SITE HAD THE PART NUMBERS AND IIRC THEY ARE THE SAME FOR THE TRANNIES.

it would bother me, i dont think it would do any good. maybe if someone doesnt know the H pattern in their sleep, it might make them faster.

Would the SR fit the KA transmission? Seems like a stupid question, but a lot of the transmission components from the two seem to mate up.

It should. The SR/KA/RB short shifters are all interchangable, so I don't see why this wouldn't be.

The companies site that makes it should answer any questions. A freind of mine had one in his GT-R, he had trouble with it jamming. It likes to be slammed for positive shifts so I was right at home. If I had the cash I would get it.http://www.ikeya-f.co.jp/english/

Its a good shifter, but does nothing except make for positive shifts, you still need to unload the trans with the clutch to shift.

but it is faster, just movement foward and people who really know their cars don't have to use the clutch. It would be risky but possible.

You know, these little bolt-on thingys are not the same as complete sequential gearboxes. The real boxes use dog engagement (which is really strong, fast and doesnt need a clutch to be pressed when gearing up, but it has only one disadvantage - it's not durable, dog rings just wear out after 20k miles), your regular gearbox with this little bolt-on will still use stock synchro engagement and needs a clutch to be pressed when shifting up and down.
