I've seen that thing around before... is it for real??

How would it work? I know it converts the shift pattern into linear movement... but literally... how does it work?

*edit* USDM or JDM I like'em both:pface

it works based on moving the shifting rod into the forks using an air powered solonoid.

There is no way that is a true sequential shifter. It is probably one that still uses a clutch It is being sold for about $1000 US (for the silvia model). I know sequen shifters usually go for $15k to $20k, but that is probably the clutchless ones. Also, last I heard, the Ikeya sequen shifter still uses a clutch. I still think its cool that the only motion is up and down, eliminating gear misses, etc. I want one!

yes you still need the clutch with the ikeya attachment. all it does it convert the "H" box motion to a "sequential" up and down motion. woopty fµcking doo...im very sry but im not going to pay 1000 bucks to be lazy...

That thing is nuts! I think it's high up too so when you shift it looks like you're waving to someone on the freeway.

I was going to get myself, but I E-mailed Import fan and the guy said that it was really not worth it becouse it is set up for a right hand drive car, and so it would be VERY frustrating to use.

how does being set up for RHD make it harder to use..the shift pattern is the same, i'm planning on using my RHD transmission from a ca18det and it looks identical to my LHD ka transmission...

Because I'm pretty sure the shifter is angled towards the driver, like a Mustang.

Those things are lame. All the negatives desribed are 100% true.

It doesn't use an air solenoid, it just changed the shift pattern to linear instead of H. If you want a real sequential transmission, give us a call, and have about $15-$20k ready to send us.

Yes EZcheese15 was right, it is Very angled to the right, so if you sit on the left it is Very Hard to use.:angryfire

HKS has one and that thing runs for around 12k, that must be hard to use.

No, a true sequential shifter is what HKS sells. It *does* use air solenoids to enable and disable the clutch, and the shifter is stock height with a linear pattern (up for downshift, down for upshift). That's the difference between $12k and $1k.
