Sept 6th Bowling Green Meet.

The BG meet was a blast. We meet in Louisville for a pre-meet about 10:30am. Fred got some doughnuts for us to snack on. There were two people that came out for the pre-meet that couldn’t go to Bowling Green, Tony(2k2 Maxima 3.5se) and Michael(2002 Type R). The rest of us left Louisville about 11:30am and headed to BG. The caravan to BG went with out law intervention. We kept it to a 80mph max. Pre-meet people that went to BG.

We got to the Corvette museum about 11:50am BG time. There we meet up with some of the BG people and hung out there until the track opened at 5:00pm. Some of the people went in and checked out what the Corvette Museum has to offer. There is also a car “dealership” within walking distance of the parking lot that has so many awesome old Vetts, Mustangs, GN’s, ect…Fred bought 2 big bags of cheese burgers for everyone and we hung out and waited for everyone else to show up. We had though about a DYNO portion of the meet that would have taken place at this time but due to several reasons (nobody paid in advance to hold the DYNO for the day and it would have taken like 6 hours to DYN 15 or so cars) we did not do that part. I had also thought that we could all go to a sit down place for lunch but because everyone was hungry at different times and we wanted to make sure anyone that got there late would know where to go. So most everyone came and went in small groups.

People who meet us in BG.

The only part of the meet that I would change if I could is to start a little later or at least I should have taken sun screen. We were at the Corvette Museum for 4 hours in the sun and it really got me. The weather was perfect though.

We left for the track about 4:20pm and made it there pretty quick. We got in and after checking in at the tech station we all parked in one area. Everyone prepped their cars to race. Some by switching wheels and tires others by just taking junk out of the trunk. Staging started about 5:30pm. Racing started about 6:00pm. The track was tricky, with the left lane being real slick. Everyone was complaining of wheel spin half way down. Everyone had a fantastic time.

Here are some of the photo’s that I took Sat.

Great writeup! I'll have some pix ready later...

The left lane was VERY slick and the right lane induced wheel hop in my maxi :(

Had a great time guys!

awesome. Your first pass was a 13.xx with you hitting the brakes before the line. Still beat the modded 'Stang who ran a 14.1 ;)

Having two turbo Maximas there was awesome! I'd love to see what you could do with slicks and a track that didn't suck...

My last run was worse in the outside lane. No traction and high humidity resulted in a 15.17 with a horrible 2.3x 60'. The modded Dodge R/T V8 I raced only hit a 17! It was classic since he seemed to give a few smirks while "in line"...

Yes the left lane has horrible. I was spinning tires through 3rd gear. At one point i blew them off so bad that i left a huge cloud of white smoke through the 1/8.:D

Did you celebrate last night Joel, because of that 14.8 run? :D I had a great time as well everyone, even without my car. It was awesome getting to ride in Fred's Q (even if it isn't running like it should, STILL) and also getting to ride in an sr'd powered s13. That mofo was FAAASSSSSSST. (16lbs on stock turbo, fmic, etc etc). I'm looking forward to more meets of course. Hopefully I'll have my car next time as well.

I wish I would've brought the T-Bird so I could run it. I think it might've hung with Fred's Q....

I turned 20 at the meet. :whistler:Showing up was my birthday present (plus i wasnt going to miss it) so I celebrated by enjoying what went on and riding around Bowling Green a bit. Anyways, nice meeting everyone again and ones I didnt meet before. Uhh...dont know your name but the guy that had his tools in our car, when we left the track we put them beside the wall there behind the chair so hope you found them alright. Looking forward to the next meet. :D

By the way, can someone change my username from darkeagle19 to darkeagle20 and keep all my information the same?

Well Fred and myself got lined up against each other twice and he beat me both times.I know he wasn't real happy with his times something like a 15.7?I only had one run in the 15's most were 16 flats.

My Altima and WRX where at home for this meet. I think we are going to IRP the 16th. I hope to have a UTEC Access ECU by that time and have it up and running.

Dane-Its pretty ironic that I had to go to Kentucky to become a red neck, literally. The weekend was nice and cool. Sitting out in the sun made for a long day when we got to the race, but I think everyone had fun.

well here my 2 cents.. if u like it or not ... i personally didnt like the meet... it was good seeing most of u since thats the group we usually hang with but the 5 hrs in the parking lot was uncalled for .. hey maybe the mall or a cruise around B/g would have killed some time.. but thats only my opinion.. and the track yes it was ****ty.. no traction and what not.. my car did split the tranny case(new one should be here friday)....but thats racing .. if u dont brake something welll its not racing... one thing did bother me... the whole tire issue thing... i mean if ur going to a track and ur racing then i think u should come prepared.....

if all the meets are going to be like this were u just sit around and do nothing then i can do that here in my yard... other than that like i said it was nice seeing new pple and talking to them and hanging out with the same 5 pple...as the track goes .. u aint going to run perfectly everytime the car is a machine and the machine has to adapt to certain ambients ... the car is not going to react the same way at every track...like i said all day it was going to run or brake tring well i did both i broke it tring....

Had a goodtime. Can't wait for the next meet. Also Dane I have an 89 240sx not a 98, although I wouldn't complain if I did have a 98.

I saw the video, posted by a member of another non-automotive related forum, early today. I didn't realize it even was the NICO meet, till I saw Carlos' S14. . I was damn impressed by the 12.7 second pass.

Guys I had a great time as usual..............

Sorry about the appearence of red but you know those drifting accidents are a pain ;)

I ran a personal best on the new motor I can tell its breaking in very well I ran a 15.8 and my best time before that was a 16.3. I also found out the secret to the kumho tires heat them bastards up and they stick real good I had 3 runs 2 15.8's and a 15.9 and in each run I had a little wheel spin and the tires catching and bogging on the line.

Once again it was great to see everyone again Its has been awhile for some and it was great to meet new people. Nicole and Carlos I just wanted say I had a blast talking to ya'll and making fun of Rubin while we were waiting in the staging lines.

I hope that I get to make a few passes nest meet for sure. I missed out on all the fun. Sounds like typical beech bend conditions. I consistently run 2.1 60 ft times with my stock tires
