91 nissan sentre 1.6 twin cam vehicle will idle ok but out the tailpipe you can tell that it is missing. The big problem is when i try to accellerate the vehicle is acting like it has a rev limiter. If you continue opening the throttle it seems to miss more and not have any power while still surging up and down. I have tryed a mass air flow sensor only because after pulling the codes it had a code 12. I also checked fuel pressure it was good. Did not see any cracks in the mass air flow boot and even put a vacumm gauge on vehicle it was with in range 17-20 inches of vacum.

i have inspected the rotor button and the cap i thought the same thing follows least path of resistance but it looked fine. I did make sure the exhaust was not restricted. performed a compresson test 150 each cylinder but all 4 spark plugs are black it is definetly running way rich, possible ecm ??????????? or do you think possibly a distributer??????

your rich condition could be a number of things but i dont think the dist. would cause it. maybe o2 sensor is reading lean but shouldnt cause a miss on accel. maybe air flow is going south off idle. if you have a way to graph the voltage of it you might get some answers. the fact that it falls on its face on accel really says air flow. as if it was not even connected. you should really focus on that IF all the secondary ignition checks out. but again the rich condition in combination with the stumble on accel says air flow.

coolant temp sensor will also cause a rich condition but not really an accel problem
