Sentra vs Civic

Super Tuner TV just had thier show on and they and a track race for 2 internet car clubs. One was 200sx or sentra's and the other was CRX's and Civics. Each team had about 6 racers and they totaled everyone's time to see which was best. Honda or Nissan..... Most of the SE'Rs had turbo's and alot more hp than the NA honda's. BUT Honda made a better handling car. Guess who won? HONDA H O N D A

that's not fair! the sentra is 4 door...i bet they all used civic hatches...

The difference between the two cumulative team times was like 1.3 sec. Which is pretty close. When they passed out the prizes, the Honda guys got the tires and the Nissan guys got the wheels. It was a good race, I hope they do it again.

Yeah it was a little deceptive. People who were at the event were saying that it was really close and both sides did very well. Apparently a lot of the Nissan guys had issues with their cars too. I think Mike Kojima did a writeup on it talking about what went on.

yep, and charles johnson(hybrid det) with his sr powered b12 was present and accounted for to rep the b12 camp to the fuliest . to say the least he wasnt shown much love but he gave it his all. im sure u ve all seen it on npm.

The thing everyone's got to realize, is that most those Honda and Nissan guys know each other off the track. It wasn't like it was to slam Nissans. It was all done in good fun.

Kojima's car broke because they just put in a sequential gearbox, and the splines on the input shaft were wrong or something, and they sheared off the splines.

Honda's won because they were racing on a tight track. Even before the race, all the Nissan guys were like "well, it'll be close, we got power, they got handling." It's not like anyone was bragging. All the BS they talked on the show was all done for TV. Kojima actually said on the SE-R mailing list that it was kinda stupid how he had to "pretend gang fight" the Honda guys.

Anyway, it's a good episode to watch though. It was cool seeing a bunch of Nissan guys who I actually know on TV. (well, on mpg, since I don't have cable). It was nice of the show to actually show performance cars for once, rather than a civic with 37 15" subs and a "trick DVD navigation" system in it. The other good thing was that it showed that import guys aren't all young teenagers. They are old fogies that race imports too.

Did the Sentra guys not have that many suspension upgrades?

I am pretty sure all of them had suspension upgrades. At least the Disco Potato has a custom Progress full coilover setup I know of.
