Alright my friend just bought a 91 ser sentra with a 60trim t3t4 on it, he was driving in 4th gear and punched it and took it up past 7k and when he left off he heard a loud air sound after his bov discharged it sounded like an air compressor sound, anyways he tried to get on it again and when he went to build boost it wouldnt go past 1or2 psi and the car would sputtered and buck violently, Im out of ideas, i thought it was a vacuum leak but the boost gauge is reading right around -20 vacuum his fuel upgradeds are 550cc inj, 300zx tt fuel pump and a jwt ecu and a fpr, any answers will be apprecitated thanks

i was gonna say check the MAF readings. Make sure MAF didnt come unplugged or something. Also, if its a fuel pump propblem, check voltage to the pump

the gush of air is the tell tail sign of your problem something came off is my thinking like one of the tubes or something. keep in mind I am no boost expert so its purely a guess based on the charicteristic of the failure.

You need to pressurise the system and check for leaks, specifically in the intercooler piping/couplers. It might idle fine, but when you try to start sending a substanial amout of boost through the piping and there is any type of leak, things just get ugly like they have done. Check to make sure he didn't blow a line of the wastegate as well. What type of wastegate is he running? external or internal? If it's anything to do with the MAF, it will idle like **** as well.

he is running a 38mm tial external wastegate, we checked the lines on it and traced them back to the greddy profec spec 2 solenoid and there all attached, we will check over it tomorrow for leaks, so chances are its a LEAK in the system.

he just had it dyno'd it made 375whp at 18psi thought i would post that.

You need to get a good size intertube with valve stem attached. Cut the tube, then place the cut end around where the MAF goes, secure it with clamps. Then take a air compressor, put air into the intertube as if you were blowing up a tire. Have your buddy check for leaks as you do this periodically.

Alright we found what was wrong, I looked around the intercooler piping and found a huge hole in....get this his lower pipe was actually a piece of pool hose, and I guess when he got on it, it blew a hole in the plastic hose, we replaced it for now but i told him to get a piece of pipe made up and weld it on, so no more leak and the car runs perfect again, thanks for the ideas guys, later
