A great resource for Nissan Sentra, Infiniti G20, 200sx, Pulsar, NX1600, NX2000, Tsuru, Primera and Sunny owners.

allright geniuses... I have a 2004 sentra 1.8s and I noticed it shakes at anything 70+mph, do you know what it could be?

Does the whole car shake or the steering wheel or what?

These cars are fairly light and tend get a little shakey at higher speeds. I know my steering wheel vibrates a bit when in the near-80 area, though that's probably at least in part a function of the crappy roads around here.

I used to drive my car in the 90-110 range and it never used to shake. I've had this car for 2 1/2 years and it has 95k miles on it. I would say it's the whole car shaking, not the steering wheel. I got 100 pt courtesy sheck from a local Nissan dealer and amongst the slew of things they found I need a new RT engine mount could this be a contributor?

An engine mount could definitely cause that sort of shake since the heaviest part of the car would be vibrating excessively.

Once it's replaced take it out for a drive and see if it shakes again and we'll go from there.

I had simular problem. Turned out to be a slightly bent wheel. Put it on the back and had it balanced now theres very little vibration. The stock alloys must be easily bent because there's no scuff marks. Have the tires rotated an balanced and I bet that cures it.

Alignment will not cause the car to shake. Pull to one side maybe, but not shake.I'd go with tire check and balance first, then possibly CV joints.Good luck.

Unbalanced tires would cause shaking at certain speeds.
