Has anyone considered putting the new Sentra SE-R rotors on the s13/s14 w/4 lugs? Here are the sizes of the available rotors for the SE-Rs:11.02" x 0.87" and optional Brembo 12.01" X 0.87".This seems liek the right thickness, but I don't know about offset and what we woudl do for calipers. Perhaps we could keep the stock calipers for the 11" rotor, but for the 12", maybe we could use the SE-R calipers? They can't bee more expensive than the Z calipers at PepBoys or similar stores.

Has anyone researched this yet? If you know anything about this conversion, please post!

I really wanna know because the 11.02" is 280mm, which is the diameter of 300ZX brakes, and although the rotor is thinner, if the SE-R caliper bolts on, it'll be on of the cheapest, most painless upgrades ever!!! And if the 12" is also possible to pu on with the corresponding caliper... WELL! That would just be fan-frikkin-tastic.

Hmm, I think Altimas and Sentra SE-Rs use the same rotors...zerothread?id=111438

Do you know the specs on teh Brembo calipers? Are they 4 piston?? The offsets are likely different, meaning you would need a new caliper brackets to put the calipers in the right place.

bump again as this could really prove to be an inexpensive upgrade on the rotor side of things..............

10 more bumps and I'm just gonna buy the rotors and see if they fit.

IT doesn't work. With enough money and bracket fabrication, I'm sure you could -make- it work, but would you really want to mess up your brake bias and spend that much money?

I wouldn't.

We've discussed why it won't work a while ago, I don't remember the particulars. I'm pretty sure its got to do with the brackets.

Bracket fabrication is not a big deterrent, the Z gus do it for the VR$ rotor upgrade.

The brake bias is not really something I would think of as a problem either, since the 300ZX brakes are even bigger (caliper wise) than the SE-R ones, and peopel don't seem to be complaining.

I wonder how much it would cost to fabricate brackets. They probably wouldn't even have to extend sideways, only up.... maybe I could make them myself from a good thick piece of steel.
