Hi Guys....

I have Nissan Sentra GXE '97 that will not start. It worked fine on Saturday. Sunday morning---not starting. I put the key in the ignition---the lights come on, power windows work, etc but the engine does not start. I hear a small whining noise. Do you think it is the starter or alternator? Where do you recommend getting a starter/alternator replaced in LA?

The whine is probably the fuel pump priming.

It's possible that your battery is strong enough to power accessories, but not start the car.

The more likely suspect would be the starter, any place should have one, and any repair shop should be able to put it in.
