First off, welcome to NICO!

Second, they fit but the hangers are different, so you'd have to have an exhaust shop cut and re-weld the hangers. Probably be about $50 worth of work.

Third, check out The Exhaust Thread in the Table of Contents. We have a few clips in there.

Honestly, getting a really loud exhaust that doesn't sound like a swarm of bumblebees is tough. That's not to mention that the droning while cruising would be obnoxious.

That said, my personal preference is the BRM exhaust, which has a direct-fit application for your 1.8. You could run a smaller resonator (I think there's a 7in option) and it'd be plenty loud.

For just having the hangers rewelded? Any exhaust shop is fine, even Midas should be able to do it.

or you could also get the hks catback for the 2.0, which will fit your car as well

^Aye, definitely shoot for a direct-fit exhaust, it's much easier that way.

I still have yet to find a good video/sound clip of the HKS.

so the HKS catback would be a direct bolt on so i dont need to get the hangers cut and welded like the Greddy TI-C could anyone give me the link for that exhaustIm jus curious why would the hangers be different on the 1.8 than the spec v its still the same chasis and frame essentrially

Right.

I'm pretty sure our sponsor Sport Compact Only carries the HKS. I think I've seen it on Stillen's website as well.

What about more of a quiet exhaust. Im coming from a subaru background and I'm really not a fan of the typical 4 cylinder exhaust note. Is there a decent exhaust that is still relatively quiet. I don't mind a deeper tone, but not loud. Had enough of that with the STi.

*ninja edit*

oh and its a 96 1.6L I4... so any references would be great. Ill be searching!

I believe B14's hangers are all the same, so 95-98 200SX SE-R (along with 95-99 Sentra) exhausts should fit you, Jaylyons.

That said, I'm always partial to BRM, but it's a matter of preference. I don't really like the high-pitched exhaust notes.

However, as higher pitches go, HKS and Greddy seem to be the cleanest (not too much buzzing).

god damnit the hks isn't loud it's very low and deep.

anything is going to be louder with a header, LOL. dude on b15 with a header had a dB level of only 97.4 which isn't really bad.

You're right, the HKS is fairly deep. I never said it was loud though.

It's just the Greddy has the kind of sound people expect out of a 4cyl, but without all the bumblebee effect.

The pitch has more to do with displacement and other internal issues. The distinguishing factor with horizontally-opposed engines is the "rumble" rather than the pitch. They sound pissed off as Hell. I love it.
