I was at the dealership last week and they had a Sentra SE-R with the 2.5L motor in the show room and I noticed in the engine compartment that their is an engine cover that is not on the Rogue's motor. Does anyone know if this would work with the Rogue? or has any one installed one?

You mean this engine cover?

Not sure if it will fit the Rogue. No one here has tried yet... at least I have never seen one.

Do you really spend that much time with the hood up to make purchasing that worth the ridiculous price Nisan's going to charge you?

The LH portion of the engine cover with the Nissan badge is about $110. The RH portion is actually a resonator for the intake system. The Rogue's resonator is not the same as the Sentra:

The parts once fitted together will leave an unsightly gap in the middle.

On the upside, the LH cover does bolt to the upper engine mount and those 2 parts seem similar on both vehicles.

Talk about platform engineering at its finest; the similarity of those two images is almost shocking! I think that the Sentra SE-R's underhood image looks more like the Rogue's than it does the standard 2.0-liter Sentras'!!!

One of the things Carlos Ghosn did under the Nissan Revival Plan was reduce Nissan's use of unique platforms for nearly every vehicle... and the engineering costs associated with them. Without this, Nissan may well have never lasted past the 90's.

That's bec. the SE-R/Spec V Sentra's share the same QR 2.5l motor as our Rogue's.

It's more than just the motor... the Rogue also shares it's chassis, front suspension design and brakes with the Sentra SE-R.

That was precisely my point. If you look under the hood of an Altima 2.5, it does not look as similar as these two, because it is on the Global D platform, whereas these two cars are built on the Global C platform.

Ghosn is definitely one of the outstanding 'car guys' of our time. I don't believe Detroit really understands what needs to be done. Cut, cut, cut, trim, trim, trim, consolidate, consolidate, consolidate and it's just starting. The pain will be excruciating and not all will survive.

Just got that piece from local junk yard to try it on and it doesn't fit. You can probably make it fit by installing longer bolts with a few nuts on it but only 2 out 3 screws you can fit in and...after all probably it's not going to look good/right.

Thanks for checking that out Leo2005.

It answers the question for several Rogue owners thinking about this mod.
