I think I remember seeing somewhere on here that you can put an early 90's Sentra ecu into a Hardbody to get a better power curve. I did a search for it and can't find anything about it. Am I mentally defective  or is that possible? If that's the case, is there anything else you need to do to the engine to get the full benefit out of that swap, or is changing it enough to see a change?

Never heard of the swap. I don't see the benefit as the Sentra is a different beast. The Stanza on the other hand has been done. The advantage to that swap is it adds the consult diagnostic port that the S13 and D21 lacked coming off the assembly line. You might be talking about the U12 KA powered Stanza.

As soon as I read your reply, I realized I had misspoke. It was the stanza comp I was thinking of, not the sentra. Like I said, it was a long time ago when I read that, so I have dropped some details. If the Stanza ecu will fit into the hb, what years are we talking about? Is everything the same on the Stanza ecu, or do we need to have them sent off and reflashed? Thanks for the help, Rev.

You want a early 90s stanza ecu. Will say u12 in the part number. I have a turbo setup so obviously I reflashed my eprom. But before installed my setup did run the stock ecu and drove around. In town didn't notice much different. But did feel gains passing pulling hills on highway.
