Sensor in bottom radiator hose - automatic ka

Yea, I've always had a manual so I'm a bit of a noob to the auto ka. But what is the sensor for in the bottom radiator hose of a sohc ka. I'm assuming its some sort of transmission temp sensor of some sort, but is it necessary?

i believe it's for the a/c fan... when it hits a certain temp, the swich closes the circuit to operate that electric fan...

i'm 90% sure... this is true for most auto/manuals...

Ahhh, well my other car had a manual fan switch... so is this on manuals and autos?

100% sure. The sensor on the lower radiator hose is for the electric fan that comes on when using the a/c.

Yes, it is...

the switch is normally open until it hits ~198-208 degrees F. then it closes to activate that AC pusher fan mounted in front of the condensor (100% verified w/ the FSM)
