Any other High schools have it?

If so, what's your tradition to know what day it's held on?

I know this, I was wondering if anyone else had a different way of deciding when their day is.

I always assumed it was the school day after prom nationwide, as thats what it was in my high school. Thats when you guys do it to, right?

But you don't need a special day to skip man, just don't go if you don't feel like going. Show up every now and then for a test to maintain average. The way our school worked was super easy to skip every day, attendance only gets called in 1st period. But my last name starts with L so they didn't call my parents till around 10:00am. I would come in after first so i was presumed absent, but when i showed up tardy my name gets taken off the call list. Then i would say i had to park my car or left something in my car, and just leave. No other teachers called attendance so the school thought i was there the rest of the day. They couldn't serve me detention for my tardies cause i was never in class Eventually the principle caught on and had a meeting about my chronic skipping problem but i was over a C average so my mom didn't really care and it continued. /skippingschooliscool rantJust show up for the tests and exams.

the day you show up for school, and none of your classmates are there, that's when it is.

Nah, we do it the 100th day of school + graduating year. Mine was supposed to be Thursday the 25th. We got snow so the school closed Thursday, so we moved it to Friday, School was closed again. So we moved it to today, Monday, five day weekend FTW!

oh thats a wierd way of figuring it out. We just figured everyone would be hung over and had a long drinking weekend after prom (which i never attended) and wouldn't feel like coming in. But hell yeah 5 day weekend is sweet.

that's just lame. who would want to skip out during the winter. the whole purpose is to get together with all your friends and go to the beach/theme park/whatever is more fun than being inside because it's too cold and s***ty outside to have fun.

We have a senior trip for that. Most of the kids go to Florida with the school. The seniors that don't go on that trip do other things. Like me and a couple of my friends are probably going to my family's mountain house to ride quads and enjoy the awesomeness. It's great because all the juniors are stuck testing, and even if we do go to school the teachers don't have anything planned for us to do.

My graduating class had two senior skip days. One before the days of finals and one after prom. But after prom there was no need for me to attend school and didn't bother showing up at all.

Senior skip day was on a friday and was a week or two before school ended (can't remember exactly). Oddly enough, I had to take tests in 3 of my classes on that same day...

Pff, I'm with TroubleBound, I just never showed up. (my HS day was divided up into 8 periods, and I had the first two free, so I didn't have to show until 10am anyway). All you had to do was show up for roll call in home room, and then bail out indefinitely. Still managed a 3.2 at one of the hardest private schools in the state!

Now I'm in college, and I am typing this from my apartment while some suckas are sitting in the class I am supposed to be in. Yeah, I'm a senior again. Gotta uphold that tradition!

Our administration isn't used to the day, obviously they don't like it. They told all of the teachers to schedule tests for the day. Most of the teachers just said no from what I've heard for other classmates.

s***...my senior year, I had somewhere around 30 days unexcused...

I should've been in the class of '01 instead of 2000 but my sister was BFF's with the principal's daughter.

We had 3 allowed unexcused absences each year in my High School. I saved them all for spring and fall. Used to go out to Great falls with whatever GF I had that could get a car to go.

i only had to go three hours a day for school. my other half was auto class which i made a deal with my teacher that as long as i worked at an automotive related job for the hours that i would have been in auto class a week i didnt have to go. not much point to skip only 15 hours a week for school. just went in in the morning and then had the rest of the day off. it was easy as pie.

My school was gay and said if you didn't show up you'd be suspended for a week and be counted absent all those days, so you wouldn't be able to graduate. Most Seniors went to school that day, haha.
