Okay guys, ive been thinking and i came up with the idea of holding a drift event in CT for my senior project. my friend is holding an autocross meet also, so id like to pair things up. Im just a junior so this wont happen till next year. I would like inputs tho, whats involved, what are good locations, how do i get the word out, ect ect.

I think holding it at Lime Rock Park is out of the question because it would be really expensive and they dont normaly let private parties hold events. My friends dad ownes Whelen engineering (if u guys follow Nascar modifieds it is now sponsered by him) he is a multi millionare and owns a local small airport that could be a posibility. o and btw his father and his brother are also very active Viper racers in the SCCA and now have switched over to the C6 corvette. they have helpfull connections.

By the way yes i know im probably crazy considering i have a very stock 93 coupe with high mileage, but hey it could be fun.

Thanx for letting me dream

it may work, but if its through the school at all, it will never happen, because of liability, same reason why we cant build a rally car in my auto class

(the police got us a car from the impound lot, but the title isnt clear)

same reason i couldnt make a rally go-kart and build a dirt course on the back-field in high school physics...they said demonstrating the physics of suspension travel in a real life situation would be "dangerous"

who says?

our go kart woulda been

-stainless tube frame-old suspension from a 240sx lol-16hp ride on lawn mower engine-tires off of an old go kart-single brake assembly on solid rear axle-no roll cage
