LAS VEGAS — Those who wonder about the tuning potential of the Nissan Versa hatchback need to look no further than Fox Marketing's contribution to SEMA.
The tuner pushes 270 horses out of the Versa's 1.8-liter four-cylinder engine. The Versa's standard engine — 122 horses — gets a boost from the addition of a ZPIracing Turbo Kit with a Garrett GT28RS turbocharger, Fujita cold air intake system, ZPIracing 22x9x3 intercooler, a Nitrous Express N-Tercooler sprayer, Tial blowoff valve, ZPI Velocity Stack intake, ZPIracing 440cc fuel injectors, ZPIracing stainless downpipe and 2-inch stainless uppipe, ZPIracing high-flow oil pump and a Tanabe Medallion Touring exhaust.
On the exterior, the sapphire blue Fox Marketing Versa features an Impul front bumper, front lip spoiler and rear kit. The interior is outfitted with Momo accessories, including red Street Racer GT front seats with custom seat brackets, a custom red rear seat, shift knob and boot, and steering wheel and hub. A Rockford Fosgate entertainment system rounds out the package.
The Muscle Road/Classic Soft Trim Versa gets an extreme fascia, ground effects with side air inlets, a hood scoop, custom grille, foglamps and a racy rear wing. The customizer grafted a large sunroof onto the Versa and added a sport-tuned suspension and 19-inch Zenetti wheels.
The 2K Motorsports Marketing "Green with Envy" Versa boasts a unique paint scheme that blends a flat black exterior highlighted by lime green and rainbow flake stripes by Kaotic Kustoms. A Precision grilles flat black piece replaces the stock grille.
Turn3 Creative/Siphon magazine tweaked the Versa by removing roughly 200 pounds of weight. To increase engine performance, the tuner added an AEM cold-air intake and a DC Sports competition exhaust header with a custom exhaust. The suspension has been upgraded with a custom TEIN Super Street coil-over kit and Hawk Performance racing brake pads and shoes. Exterior features include an APR Performance carbon-fiber front splitter and rear spoiler, custom front grille and lighting treatments by Five Axis, and Nismo-inspired race graphics by KTC Media Group and Spin Imaging. The cabin is outfitted with Sparco racing seats, harnesses, steering wheel, pedals and shift knob.
The Stillen Motorsports Versa features a full exterior treatment with custom paint and graphics, a urethane body kit and rear spoiler, and a Street Scene Speed Grille. Performance upgrades include a Stillen cold-air intake and exhaust kit and a lowered suspension.
The Roadhouse Marketing Versa suspension is enhanced with Vogtland springs with Momo wheels and Cooper tires. The exterior gets an APEWorks Graphics package, while the cabin is upgraded with Momo seats, floor mats and pedals. The entertainment system is made of an Eclipse/Fujitsu Ten DVD/CD player with Polk Audio amplifiers and speakers.
What this means to you: The smaller the car, the cooler the tune. Great things, small packages, yada yada.
