I haven't been here long but I've enjoyed it. I bought my wife a newer SUV to replace the J and so it's time to move on. I've enjoyed taking care of the J and doing all the service work to it.

I've placed it in the classifieds if anyone wants to take a look: zerothread/176938

Good luck with whatever your getting next.

Don't be a stranger. Just because you don't have the J doesn't mean you can't still contribute to this forum.

Your always welcome.

Whats the deal with the drivers door not unlocking, do you happen to know which module you replaced?

Mine is doing the same thing and Im guessing its the solenoids getting stuck or soemhting.

Don't know as the door was shut and wouldn't unlock even from the inside. Since it was shut and locked, I couldn't pull the door panel to even start to see what was wrong.

The Infiniti dealership charged about $150 iirc and I never really found out what they did. Don't think they wanted to reveal their secret.

i know what they did because i did it to mine.

it would so happen the J's door would close and kind of lock itself into place where you couldn't open it from the inside or outside

a 65 dollar latch that i bought from the dealer did the trick. think is, the latch kept on activating itself inside the car and would not let the handle bar knock it out of place to open the door from either side. the install was a pain in the butt because of the poles that go from both of the handles had to be meticulasly installed onto the new latch. after the install, i havn't had a problem sence.

I was afraid it was the latch. Guess Ill have to do it one of these days.

I sprayed alot of lube on the metal poles and the effect dissapeared(for now)

yea it's a temp fix... so is getting a drimmel and sanding down the latch so that it'll catch... but to be honest, spend the money... it's so embarrising when your trying to impress a girl and you can't open your car door, or even worse, when you cant get out of the car and have to crawl over through the passenger side
