It's been a good car, but the wife's ready to get something different. Most likely going to purchase an RX-8 tomorrow or later this week, and that means the Q has to go. If anyone on this list would like a nice car for a nice price, speak now. Otherwise it goes for the lowball trade in to lessen any hassle.'94 Q45t. Just about 96k, had lots of recent maint. Black on black, no dents, no rust, no problems, everything works. About the only thing wrong is the arm of the console being loose. This car is probably worth $5k, and the dealer will probably offer $3k. (Coincidentally, I need just about this amount for a video editing setup.) Make an offer and it's yours, but please don't unless you really want and are able to buy it. I'll pick you up from SFO or San Jose airports. (but I'm leaving Fri for two weeks)If we REALLY get lowballed from the dealer, we'll probably keep it. Drop me a note at [email protected] TP

My friends brother gave his back to the dealer, apparently it didn't dyno to the published HP specs... this was a dealbreaker for him.

Tom - I have a guy here in Phoenix who may be interested... He's looking at major repairs on his 90 Q....

Email me some pics.

Please be advised Hitman that I might also look into this car (since it's local)...

My decision will come down to putting out the greens for the chain guide job or simply upgrade to a '94.

Hop to it.

I'd grab it if I wasn't already (almost) committed to another toy.

I would buy the 94 rather than doing the guides on a 90...this from someone who owns both vintages.

What you sacrifice in general pickup, you make up for in overall ride and comfort.... of course I am 47 years old and not 27.

natsoundup - I assume you don't miss anything from the earlier Q, even considering the much-talked-about better performance?

Sure I miss the performance of the 90...you simply can't have both without spending major dollars. Every once in a while I hop in the 90 and give it a run.

If the 90 had the 94's seats, a slightly softer suspension, and a grill (and maybe the tweeters) it would be thee car to own IMHO. However, my 90 has a slipping 4th gear in the transmission and the old chain guides, so it doesn't have much value anymore.... at least economic value.

Like I have said before, the people on this board allow me to keep a Q rather than being forced to drive even more basic transportation like a Ford Taurus or Honda Accord

Folks -- I own a 94 q45 and live/work in SF area. Can you folks who are SF-based give me some recommendations on independent service shops who really know the q45 well? My car runs great, but I'd like to get the transmission professionally flushed and Mobile One put in.

I had the Infiniti dealer (Frontier Infiniti in San Jose) do mine - the transmission flush and the Mobil 1 ATF (which I bought to save the costs). BTW, for a full flush, you need 28 quarts  !

If you have it done at Frontier, ask for Benjy to do the work. He knows what to do and how to do it right!

One can use regular Mobil ATF for the first 14 quarts if done this way (BG?).

I only use 14 qts. on mine to replace the old fluid using the Sun machine.

I am checking flight info, and my wife wants to see pics, before she agrees. I have the cash, in my mattress, just waiting my turn at the car, since I wasn't the first one who responded. Shoot me some history on the car, as well.

I sent you an e-mail, and I think I might have gotten through, to you (spam blocker is tough to get past - add me to your list).

Thanks!

Ok, thanks for the patience. I put some pics up in the member's ride section. Shot these about 2 weeks ago after running it through the car wash. Certainly not perfect, but not a bad representation. The top of the front bumper is faded, and there are a couple tiny doors dings that don't appear, but no dents or bangs. Paint could use a good buffing. Sorry for the quality of the pics, I'm sort of a perfectionist and it drives me crazy shooting in the bright sun. Anyway, hope these give an idea of the car. TP
