Wrong forum, and those parts dont add up to 4300 unless you bought everything from somewhere like circuit city at msrp. Not to bust your balls or anything.

computer itself around 1200 or less. If you got a **** motherboard ;less.

but even with it all priced total. It would be no where near 4300.

you can probably sell it for 500-600 if ur lucky. 180 gigs of space is not really impressive. fx5500 is pretty low end, unspecified memory brand/speed and not even dual channel. if its a no name dvd +/- rw i have some too got em for 30 bucks each. and tha tbetter be a 17 inch lcd panel with really high refresh rate/contrast if you want 2400.

P4 3.2C (top o the line 3.2) - $279Abit AA8 Duramax 925X chipset - $153Dual channel 2x512MB ~$150 average price60GB 7200rpm drive (IDE) - $50120GB 7200 drive (IDE) - $7516X DVD-R/RW (8x is obselete) $55FX5500 256MB w/DVI ~$75 average price

Main components are up to $837.... WAAAY off your asking price. And all that stuff is brand new at newegg.com. Unless you have a $1,000 in the monitor, case, and power supply, you might want to rethink your asking price there. Personally, I wouldn't pay more than $750 for the setup.

That is one crooked shop. You could piece together a top of the line PC from newegg with everything you would need for less than $1500 minus monitor, no way any person should pay more than $3000 for a top end PC muchless a tower for 5700!

The whole thing cost me around 1400. This was about a year ago. It gives you an idea of how much people actually spend putting together a high performance PC.

damn I need to upgrade. this 4 year old 1gb Pentium, 64mb Nvida Geforce, 256k RAM, blah blah used to be top of the line man!! I need something that will be able to handle some digital video editing. Watcha guys suggest? Upgrade the RAM and vid card, or just start over?

although ram and vid card will be good but if you want alot of performance for video editing.. CPU speed is important. Video card upgrade will improve 3-d rendering but minimal affect on video editing. If you want something cheap just go with ram upgrade cuz CPU upgrade will usually require mobo change as well. (If you want high performing CPU).

EDIT I suggest you save up until you have enough money for a whole upgrade. Decent CPU and mobo combo these days dont cost much.

if you got a guy offering u 1800 you better take his money and move lol. doubt anyone here will even give u a 1000.

5700 is cool with 5700 id have dual 6800 ultras (1k), maybe some corsair twin dmx 1gb (500~), dual 74gig raptors (400~?), probably a 20" viewsonic lcd (550-700), wireless keyboard mouse from logitech i guess (75-150), the 939 processor from amd fx55 (1250), some asus motherboard with raid supporting ddr2 (100-200), sound blaster platinum zs audigy 2 (200), and then you can get a really expensive case, some crazy liquid cooling, a grip of high rpm fans, add in some floppy drive for about 20 bucks, 75-100 for a decent dvd +-RW, some surround speakers, then it'll be about 5k+tax. thats about right. if you want the same setup msrp or from say alienware ull get owned paying 7-8k+

fiznat i'd probably add another stick or 256mb memory of the same brand if you can get that

1ghz pentinum is actually pretty decent speed. depends on which geforce u have and depends if you game too. lots of people even use integrated stuff on their laptops so video cards dont really matter if youre not gaming hard. if you want to do video editing you'll need heavy processing power though.

if you wanna be gangster go xeon/scsi with ddr2

All these noobs saying you could price together a top of the line comp. from newegg. for under $1500, there are other computers than your e-machines, and compaqs. Go price out the very best parts right now and I guarantee it will be around $5000 that includes a decent 700$ moniter. The best video cards out right now are 500$..... (pci express - ati or nvidia)Damn, we got some straight outta compton morons in here. I trust most of you guys with mechanical info but when it comes to computers, you all should keep quiet.

Well well Captain Obvious, it seems like somebody overlooked the fact that he has a FX5500 and other outdated parts...

Also, the best video card setup out right now will cost you well over a grand, and thats not counting Wildcats and whatnot... Dual SLi PCI-E 6800 ultras would cost you about 600 each.

It appears the only "straight outta compton moron" here is yourself... Ive built more computers for people than you could dream of... Fact is, you can piece together an INCREDIBLE computer with a 6800GT and AMD 64 processor for 1500 bucks.

By the way... you people are talking about watercooling like its expensive.... A radiator is 15-20 bucks, piping and plumbing will cost 5-10, A good Eheim pump will cost 40-50, and then you're looking at 40-50 per block... a reservoir will cost about 2 dollars or 20 dollars, depending on how ghetto you go.

2s4x0who in the world gave u the right to call everyone morons. theyre all just saying he's asking for too much $ when it's not really worth his demand. most of these guys are right

the ati x800 and the 6800 ultra arent really the best video cards out theresame with the p4 extreme/amd fx it's just a consumer scam

better stuff would be like the 3dlads wildcats and then theres the itanium processor.

then again though i dont even trust most of us with mechanical info.

LOL, well maybe you are right, but what are we talking about here, The best gaming video card or the best multimedia card(3d rendering). I assumed gaming card. But if one is looking for a 3d rendering card then you would be correct. Sorry for the angry outburst, It just pissed me off that everyone jumped on this guy.PS for those looking for the best 3d rendering card. Look to spend 2 or 3 thousand dollars, maybe more. That would sure up the price a bit.

Wildcat cards are upwards towards 1500 dollars... As far as gaming goes though, 6800 Ultras perform on-par with it... Wildcat wins in 3D rendering...

And yes, FX-55 IS one of the top processors out there, but as is the Opteron... Its all according to what you're doing... sometimes you want some cache, sometimes you want FSB, and sometimes you want clock speed/works per clock cycle.... there is no 'beat all, end all' processor.

Ok still, Wildcat costs nothing compared to REAL 3d rendering cards. Click this link to find out, and these still arent totally top of the line.http://www.shopping.com/xPO-Fi...HSNLF11,000$ to 13,000$, But really, it all just depends on what you want to do. I doubt anyone here needs a 10000$ video card. Imagine what you could buy for your car with that......
