selling built KA24E

I know a guy who is sellign his built KA24E engien he smashed his 89 s13. Anyway he tells me he has a dyno sheet that says 240 horsepower and 240 lbs/feet torque my question is... Is that possible with these upgrades:-balanced crank-Nismo street cams-nismo pistons-Nismo adjustable timing gear-stiffer valve springs new vavles-shaved head-balanced injectors-hi flow oil pump- says it redlines at 8,000-11.5:1 compression

It was rebuilt only 5,000 KM ago which I know for a fact is correct I know the guy.

So is this possible? and if it is what do you think it is worth?

also he has a newly rebuit transmission to go with it. it also has 5000 km on it. it has ACT Race Clutch and balanced light weight flywheel. how much is that worth. If anyone is interested in it I can give you his info. I'm not to sure if I want it or not its SOHC so I don't know.

if those are his only mods, then there's no way he's making 240hp. not even at the crank.

i'd like to see his dyno sheet.

ok, let's start with the compression.11.5:1 on a KA would mean he's running a minimum of 97 octane to not ping or get knock.8,000 RPM redline would be spinning the motor way beyond where it makes power.shaving the head makes more compression, but does not help with flow, and thus costs hp from the gained compression.stiffer valve springs and new valves are a simple maintenance change on a KA. They do not make more power.balanced injectors? that's a load of crap unless it has a regulator before each injestor and a 5 way split line from the main fuel feed.

The read "MODS" listed might get him 180-190hp. But definately not 240.

190 at wheels is 228 at crank...close enough to 240..but not 240...

p.s.: I want my car to have exactly 240WHP and 240lb/ft..then it REALLY would be a 240SX

Ha balanced injectors thats a good one. I wouldn't bother with the engine sounds kind of scamy to me. I wouldn't trust him. Keep looking for something else.

Hmm..I bought a 1990 240sx from Maine that the guy claimed 220HP from his KA24E with pretty much all the same Mods you listed.. only 16K on the engine.. Also said it's a ACT clutch with Lightened Flywheel. Is this kid's name Eric and from Maine? (he currently lives in Georgia now I believe) This is some weird concidence, as the car i bought the owner claimed just about the EXACT same HP with the same mods.

i agree, i think with those mods he's gettin MAYBE around 180hp ish, and thats givin him benifit of the doubt, jus my 2centsp.s- ask if he has a balanced airfilter, i hear those can push up to 3o hp to the wheels!!!!

It might depend on the number of stickers the motor has on it. Remember, the simple rule of thumb is 5rwhp per sticker!
