My 94 Q is good in all respects except that second gear is slipping, brake wear warning is on (brakes are new) and the TCS/ABS system lights are on (may be related to trans). Small rust spots on rear wheel well and rear door rocker, but no perforations, and not spreading since it came south. Otherwise, the car is 2 owner, 180K, great interior (new leather), Tokico blues, always run on synthetic oil, new rubber under the plenum, and it runs well. The car is not worth a lot as you know, but here are my thoughts:

1. Donate it
2. Sell it with upgraded radio (Sony XAV 602BT with back up camera), and 17" wheels from 2006 Q with NEW (dammit) Pirellis for about $2K
3. Sell it without radio and with the stock wheels (also new tires) for $1,000 or so.

It's a great car, and it's been my daily driver since 2005, but I'm too old & cranky to crawl around fixing things now, nor do I want to part it out. I would appreciate your advice, though.

Thanks!

Seeing how you have a questionable transmission and the body has rust, the car doesn't have a lot of value.. Most likely what will happen is someone will take the car, pull the engine (and maybe the diff and the front brakes), and trash the rest.

Personally, I would take your route of selling the wheels/tires and radio separate, and then try and get $800 for the car. From the buyers perspective, the engine is probably worth about $500-$700 (seeing how you've done some work under the plenum which is great), and by scrapping the car you might get $200.

I would think the wheels and tires should fetch $700-$800...

Pull the radio and wheel and donate, not worth the time and hassle to sell a car under 1k. With the issues you have you cannot get more than 1k and that is too much pain, go for cars for kids or something and call it a day.
