yea... I remeber seeing a couple Q's for sale. Some paint damange on one, and the drivers seat had a tear in the leather but the guy couldnt even get 800 for it. With how fast these cars lose value the suckers are the ones that buy them new and expect to sell them off for a newer car before the car actually dies... a couple cents on the dollar is what you might earnRex wrote:Sad facts are a non-running Q will only bring you $750 if you're lucky and it's body/suspension/interior/transmission is in great condition. If those parts are in good condition, then parting it out will net you more funds.
Well when I was driving it it did have a prob almost like a valve taping sound but idk. The sound would go away sometimes after a while of driving it but would be back on as soon as I turn off/on. I let my freind drive it to work and he told me that it broke down. He said he was driving and then it just shut off.xerexabante wrote:why do you think it is the motor? you just might got a bad sensor. or a plugged fuel filter or exhaust. befor you jump to conclusions try to see what the problem is. bad sensors, fuel filter, plugs, blocked exhaust, would make the car not to run. selling will solve your problem, just see what you are buying, maybe more problems. sell if you do not like your car anymore and get the car you like. just make sure you think about the car you are getting. cars need maintenance, and repairs. even new vehicles need work, and repairs too.
Any used vehicle will require maintenance and an Intrepid doesn't hold a candle to the Q45.1gQ45 wrote: The good news is that I found this guy I know selling this Dodge Intrepid. Its a 96 with like 110k its clean outside and in. So I think its a good buy. Tell what you guys think....
Well if I get a corolla or somthing shouldnt I just keep the dodge? Its reall clean all it reallly needs is subfream bushings so when I ride over a bump or so it dont give me that click type sound. So what you think keep or sell My fav car is Integra I would really like to have a 4-door teg (omg I love that car) wish I could find one of them for a good price like a 94 +.Jesda wrote:A lot of first-gen Intrepids ask $1500-$2600 because they're comfortable and nice to drive, but rarely do they actually sell for those prices because they're Chryslers.
Buy it for $400, sell it for $1000, then look for an old Corolla or Prizm to beat on while you save for something more desirable.
LOL hmmm are you hiding an Intrepid behind your infiniti... HAHA I think it would be a good idea to keep the dodge cuz a wise man once said "If you cant dodge It Intrepid It" or something like that LMAOJesda wrote:You will need to do a transmission flush at the dealer and MAKE SURE THEY USE CHRYSLER ATF+4 AND NOTHING ELSE. Should run you $150-$200. Add a transmission cooler as well -- this is mandatory.
After that, all should be well assuming no prior damage has been done to the transmission. Thats the weak spot on those cars, and once alleviated, they're nice cheap road trip cars with (shockingly) good handling.
Why the hell do I know so much about Intrepids...
Yeah they do but Im not gonna sell the Q me and Dr. D (David Steele) are going to see if we can make the big beast a bigger beast...
