its actually more than 10 times..

Does your ACTSUS light come on? is the thing full of fluid? Sometimes it wont come on if the fluid is low?

the way i check mine is by, turning my ignition swith to on without starting trhe car. Then occiliating the switch ten or more times between "hi" and normal. Wait a couple of seconds and watch the flashing lights on the dash.... you know the first couple of lights indicate the first digit. and after the pause the next couple of lights indicate the second digit in the code. Im sure a lot of this is redundant. But, email Keith he's the Guru of all active issues. What makes you think you have a problem?

I had the same problem. Never fixed it, I converted. However since I have heard that people have had success after swapping out thier active computer. Replaced and alternator or battery lately? Seems to be a common thread on fried active computers

Power Steering controller module? 3" X 3' X 1" box under the dash. I haven't looked it up in the FSM but I bet there's a page on troubleshooting it. I believe it's a module specific to the active. (BTW- I have one if this turns out to be the problem). Good luck.

First thing to check is the pressure developed by the PS pump side of the combo active/ps pump. Several owner I know of (including my wife's car) have experienced unexplained sudden loss of pressure delivery of the PS pump. It was only after 3 R&R and teardown/inspections of her pump I had a 'eureka' moment. The PS pump is a conventional sun & ring gear/crescent pump--extremely robust and reliable-bullet proof except for gravel. What happens: IF in its previous life the PS oil was not changed regularly and allowed to oxidize any, it attacks the +/-7" dia O-ring that seals the outside end plate against the removable housing end. If this 'sensitized O-ring ever gets exposed to air, even for an hour or less, it rapidly shrinks in cross section and hardens. This may happen when you try to drain and flush all the PS fluid, or fix a leaking suction pipe O-ring seal. Then on restart, the shrunken O-ring allows the end-plate to move out slightly-creating a large internal by-pass in the pump housing. Result--low pump pressure delivery.

Fix: either a new pump install or remove the pump, remove the back cover, remove the shrunken O-ring and add several layers of teflon tape into the groove to make up the loss in O-ring cross section, reassemble, reinstall. Hop eit works.
