Seized Crank bearing? KA24de

I got a 1992 Auto hatch. the previous owner told me he bought it from someone who said it had a seized crank bearing. is there a way to make sure that the bearing is the problem before i pull the motor or should i just go ahead and pull it.

the motor cranks but sounds like there is extra resistance. I don't know anything about auto transmissions but could a bad one be the culprit.
