I do agree with you with about carbon fiber will look ugly on most cars, but not a red Z. I think red and carbon fiber goes well as black and carbon fiber.PapaSmurf2k3 wrote:If FRP were available and was just as strong/light as carbon fiber, I would buy it in a heartbeat over carbon fiber. Unpainted carbon fiber panels/body pieces looks like absolute dog crap on most cars in my opinion.
I could see old muscle cars without a hood but would you really sport a Z without a hood? C'mon now...R350Zz33 wrote:u know whats lighter then a carbon fiber hood and a aluminum hood thats right boys and girls no hood. and u dont have to spend a dime
removing a hood is just about as useful as watching reruns of the weather channel. if anything you would probably slow down from wind resistance and turbulence.R350Zz33 wrote:no but lets say ur just a week end warrior at the drag strip just another thing u can do to shed weight fast
Not necessarily... removing the hood would cause underhood temps to drop like a rock. You'd be sucking in colder air, and it would be traveling through colder pipes to your engine (your intake manifold would probably be cooler). For the dragstrip, running no hood is probably a good thing. On a road coarse, depending how fast you go, it still might be a good thing. For a top speed run, you're better off sticking with your hood (not only for drag coefficient purposes, but for stability purposes as well).Dasoupdude wrote:

which is stupid.
I've decided to buy the authentic C-West CF lip kit instead of Seibon replicas. Full CF lip kit with shipping $1670. This kit is top notch in quality and fitment.kuhan wrote:Has anyone heard of this Seibon CF lip kit?

They quoted me for a full CF lip kit for $1325 shipped. Is this a good buy?
And they're usually pretty cheap too.Sentientbydesign wrote:Another option for saving weight would be to get a CF hood without the thick layer of resin/gel/clearcoat. A pre-preg CF hood with a CF skeleton would probably weigh about half of the stock hood weight. Then you could just paint it.
Cheaper than the pretty glossy ones? Yes. Cheap in general...? eh.ldstang50 wrote:And they're usually pretty cheap too.
Post some pics when your done!kuhan wrote:
