Alright, so I am finally about ready to take the plunge, but still unsure on the exact amount of money I want to spend. I have been reading until my eyes bleed on both swaps (SR20 and CA18DET). I have the funds to do either swap but am leaning toward the CA18DET not just because of the price but also because it's not seen nearly as often.

Place that I am planning on buying the swap from is http://www.osakajdmmotors.com/ I just sent them an email asking for a shipping quote, I have heard good things about them but the shipping price is going to be the big go or no go.

I also e-mailed MAC Autosport asking about SR20 prices and I thought they were pretty spendy compared to what I have seen. I did ask about the CA18DET but they said it was a dead end motor with no where near the support compared to the SR20 (which is true). So, as far as I could tell from the e-mail, they wouldn't ship a CA18DET at all.

Next, I have an excellent place to work on this swap. There is a shop here on Ft. Carson that I have used before. They rent out shop space (lifts, paint booth's) and pretty much any tool you can imagine/need. They usually rent out the space with an hourly rate but I did hear someone mention something about a cheaper rate for cars with more time consuming projects. Actually, last time I was there I saw a black s13 hatchback with an SR sitting next to it, but the owner was no where to be found.

So I have the funds, tools/space to do the swap but I am working on the knowledge aspect. My mechanical experience is decent, I have swapped out a few B and D series engines into honda's but I am way to new in dealing with Nissan and boosted vehicles (my first swap was with my old CRX). My buddy who will be helping with the swap is a DSM nut so this should help with my turbo questions/problems. My main area of concern here is the wiring, still trying to grasp the concept on what need's to be done and having a helping hand here would be great. So if anyone feel's generous enough to give me suggestions on what to do it would be much appreciated. I am pretty new to the area and have only seen a handful of 240's here, where is everyone at?

Also, am I ignorant for leaning towards the CA18DET? For the price it doesnt seem like it can be beat, and would be a huge learning experience for me without haveing to spend a huge amount of cash. Plus, I like that fact that it isnt seen nearly as much as the SR, and from what I have researched it is very reliable and a little rev happy

If anyone can give me some insight, help a fellow 240'er in need, TIA
