Well I am starting to prep my car for next season I plan to attend alot of Auto-X events along with going to Bear Mountain. My car is a daily and will remain a daily while attending these events. I do drive my car hard and I love to take curves and etc so having a good suspension set-up will more than just put a smile on my face and benefit my driving. So i am wondering if the set-up i have planned will do justice or if some of the stuff is un-necessary etc. I am looking for opinions, recommendations and what ever esle is possible. Pleas don't flame up the thread nor post for stupidity

What i have in mind to do is this so far

Stance CoiloversJohnnie Fraz Tension arm BraceProgress Sway barsSPL Tension rodSPL Rear upper arms SPL Traction rods

What kind of tires? That's really 75% of the equation right there.

Which Stance coils are you getting? GR+ Pro or better, I hope.

Did you check to see if these mods are legal in the class you want to run in? You don't want to end up running with gutted evo's and sti's just because of some part you may not have considered...

Mind if I ask, what size are your Kosei's and what suspension your running? I have a set (16x8.5+27) but think I should wait until I get coils to mount them so it won't look so bad. But your's look nice. Wheel/tire/ suspension specs, plz!

Sorry for the threadjack!

Yeah... I'd have to take my sway bars off if I want to stay in a competitive class down here. And coils are out of the question unless you want to get routinely destroyed by the big dogs...

But I plan on stocking up with Johnny Fraz/SPL products too... Looks like great stuff!

You forgot SPL tie rods and tie rod ends. Also flush the brake system and use good pads.

Hankook RS2 or Falken RT-615 tires for Auto X.

wider, low pro tires = much much better handling. even if you have to sacrifice style to afford putting these on your car, DO IT! I don't care how good your coilovers are, if you have stock wheels and a thick tread wall your handling will suffer. the tread wall will just get crushed and not provide enough support.

Both of these tires are old and "slow" compared to all the new tires that are either out, or coming out soon.

ToyobridgestoneyokohamaKuhmonittoAnd hancook may have a replacement for the RS2 as well, I can't recall for sure.

all have new tires coming out / or just released new tires.

Bridgestone and Kuhmo both support Autox. FWIW.

Read the rule book and find a cass that you want to run in, if you are serious. If you just want to build your car for fun / what you want, run in what ever class you end up in. Just don't worry about getting smoked by some fire breathing mustang or the like. Plus it takes a while to get competitive any ways. Just go out and have fun (at first anyways).
