Hello all!

I am looking forward in buying a G35S Sedan 07/08 with a 6 speed transmission. I am currently in the Nissan family with a 2k Maxima that have served very well during my studies but now that I am done and I got a stable job it's time to upgrade!

Here's a pic...the car has now 193k km on it!

I did search in the forum regarding review and reliability topics on the VQ35, for that specificic range of year, nevertheless I am looking for reviews of people who actually know their cars and are the best speakers in terms of what the car is really delivering for the bucks. Any links, advise or input would be greatly appreciated.

I am still searching and roaming for information, please tell me if it is the correct section! I have been recommended to search here :)

Also note English is my 2nd language as I am from Montreal, Canada. Bleh it is snowing right now and -20 C.
Thanks!
Benoit

Your English is better than half the people on here, so don't worry about it ;)

That maxima looks amazing, especially considering it has 193K on it. Welcome to NICO!

Those sedans are pretty rock-solid mechanically... just make sure its been kept up with proper maintenance.

Coming from a 2k2 Maxima SE myself the G was a natural upgrade path. The 07-08 sedan VQ35HR is a similar motor in a RWD configuration but has been upgraded to a dual-TB intake design (18% more efficient) and equal-length exhaust manifolds which are 25% more efficient.

What other questions would you have?

Thanks for the technical information, really helpful.

So far I didn't find any bad feedback about the 6MT / vq35HR...it seems to be a pretty nice piece of work.

Is there anything special to pay attention when I'll go try 1?

Just run the VIN by a dealership to check it's service records. Make sure the seat buttons all work. Make sure the brakes are not pulsing (possible warped rotors, something you would be familiar with having a 2k2 Maxima). Visual inspection under the hood and under the car. Make sure there's not a lot of clutch play or chatter. All pretty common stuff.

Otherwise I can't think of anything.

That shouldn't be an issue as every G that I've seen is sitting a dealership. Some of them have more mileage than other (75k miles vs 28k miles) so they are obviously different things to look at depending on the choice, very good bit of information in there!

And I know brakes on these cars are always creating good discussions, as stated previously the stock brakes on Maxima tend to warp very fast, which is why I upgraded my front brakes to a 04/06 conversion to help eliminate this poor lackness.Personnaly I wouldn't be shy to replace all brakes with a raybestos/hps combo if it's a prerequist for a car that has that power and weight ratio.

The test drive will speak for itself. Thanks!

Funny about the Maxima brakes but I had my car from new until 2009 and after 158k miles I had had the brake pads changed twice and front rotors turned once. I never really had the rotor issue others have had.
