2 years ago, at about 105k, I needed a new radiator. Midas installed, and since I have needed to add coolant periodically. At times, it leaked a lot. Took it into three shops ( including Midas) to discover problem but no one could identify. Last check was three weeks ago, when it really wasn’t leaking anymore, but wanted to nail it for safe travels. Then I started hearing funky clinks and clanks last week and took it for oil change, coolant levels were still good but then went back to last shop (trustworthy)to check radiator and was told I needed a new a/c compressor. But everything was working fine and the noises were intermittent. Then drove about 125 miles, no problem. THEN, after being parked for two days, after 4 blocks, car stalled while driving. Restarted and drove 4 more and it stalled again and wouldn’t start. Just a big click. Towed to different shop and now am told engine is seized; would only move “a little” with socket wrench.
Presently, it is undergoing inspection for reasons the coolant was leaking.
Is a seized engine a seized engine is a seized engine??? That is, totally not repairable?
Should Midas take responsibility?
Am I SOL??
