Almost all "imports" are built in the US, they employ US workers, and the money benefits the US economy.

A lot of "domestics" are built in Canada, Mexico, and elsewhere, and parts are sourced from all over.

How is Buick not dead yet? After all their key spokeman was Tiger Woods, now since they kicked him to the curb they don't have anyone to really sell their cars for them. Aside from the weak hearted attempt to bring back the glory days of the turbo charged Regal, Buick really doesn't have anything anyone really wants to be seen driving in, including the old heads.

have you been in a buick lately? i rented a lacrosse over the summer and g_ddamn! the only reason why i didnt pursue it before settling on the new Kia Optima, is because it was more than i wanted to pay. seriously though, they are making some fine cars. there is more soul in a lacrosse than any toyota currently made. honda for that matter too.

Buick survives for one reason: China

The Chinese respect the brand (historical reasons) and buy them in part because they're associated with America. Some have proposed killing off Buick in the US and making it exclusively Chinese, but that would be brand suicide, like killing off BMW in Europe and only selling them here.

GM is also repositioning Buick as a brand. While they may also continue building geezer-magnets like the Lucerne, they're also set to pick up slack from both Saturn AND Pontiac. Buick's probably going to become--at least partially--a performance division again. The new Regal is the first of a bunch of cars that would probably have ended up wearing Saturn Redline badges before the multiple brandectomy. Euro imports (particularly Opel) and hotted up sedans are going to start appearing with Trishields on their grilles. Those were formerly duties of Pontiac and Saturn.

Also, 1st gen Camaro > 2nd gen. I have this argument with my dad all the time. He loves the split bumper. I have trouble deciding between '67 (four headlight) and '69 (two headlight).

I really like where Buick is going, I really like the new Regal a lot. Plus the new Regal GS is basically a Vauxhall Insignia VXR and I'm a big fan of anything Vauxhall or Opel based anyways, so the more the better IMHO.

The '67 was not my favorite at all, I prefer the '68 or '69 personally. The 70-73 is still my favorite though, mainly because i've owned one and I love the looks of them. That being said though, I hate pretty much every Chevrolet carbed V8 there is and they hate me right back. Every vehicle i've owned with a SBC has done nothing but piss me off... They're cheap and easy to build but I hate where the distributor is and I hate having to adjust the valves on them  Now, give me any of the LS motors to swap in and you'll never hear a complaint out of me again. All LSX motors>SBC & BBC.

GM's mid-60s simple-but-striking era is my absolute favorite for cars. '66 Chevelle, '67 Camaro, '66 Impala, '66 Nova...all spectacular. They did a LOT with a little. I tend to prefer the simpler variants (the Chevelle being the one exception...there' I prefer the '69, but only by a little). The later 60s and early 70s got more detailed but less refined.

I do like the '67 Camaro, it's just not my favorite because I feel like '68 was the perfect balance of the design. I love almost all Chevrolets from the 60's, while the only ones I cared about in the 70's would be the 70-73 Camaro Z/28 or SS and the 70 Chevelle SS454 LS6. I would give my left nut for a '69 Chevelle Yenko SC 427 though.

I'm interested in where Buick is headed. As the only GM division left between Chevrolet and Cadillac, and a division where the majority of their customers have AARP cards. I foresee Buick staying close to their current US marketing strategy and just inheriting some former Oldsmobile customers. I sat in a new Regal at the Philly Auto Show last week. Pleasant, not sporty. Still an old fogie non-enthusiast car IMHO

The E46 M3's ride is jarring and the heap of crap known as SMG scares them. There's enough 325s and 330s out there for the discerning secretary who can't afford a brand new Altima Coupe or can't find the 240SX of her dreams.

I still say nala's not a meme, he's a law. nalawin's law, which states that as thread length increases, so do the odds of someone making a nala refrence. And, this.

The awesomeness that is an Altima Coupe owner saying an M3 is for receptionists is causing feedback sequel in the pleasure center of my brain.
