I think NIRA would have made a hella lot more money then whatever NHRA gave him. Notice most if not all of the NIRA competetors are running NDRA now. Could have been one big conspiracy. NHRA has its import series as well, maybe they didn't want the competition.

Saw a bad *** s14 with swap and little extra's here and there at the show down in FL. Upon staging, "why isn't the car going forward", broken drive axle, it was too bad, said he was runnin 12s. Nice time to see a 240 run. Hope he trailored it in, that dragway was out in the middle of nowhere.

Do you guys do any East Coast meets? We have our local bunch here, not many, few swaps and s15 conversions.

SWIFT_DRIFT its all opinion and choice on what to do in life. I don't think I'd personally go Craigs exact route. I build my business on quality. I don't go out and film some ricer kid trying to do donuts in his bumble bee civic. Sure when it hits shelves some kids will be like "wow, thats funny" others like myself will be like ".......yeah ok, thats dumb", then they won't look at my product the same way. If I go film a bad a$$ quality car, the reaction is different. It's good though that people on this board do have sense, was worried for a moment.

Craig is a friend, so naturaly I take offense to bashing him. You might not like his career moves but I bet if you talk to him, you'll find he's a good guy.

Oh and so you know if Universal offered me as much money as they offered him I'd say no...do you know why?

1. He is supposed to be an enthusiast. An enthusiast wouldn't blow up his own scene, defiling and vilifying it. 2. Its not like he was struggling career wise, or needed the money.3. He was already "famous" in his scene, but I guess that wasn't enough

Do you think he will honestly keep that R34? Did you read that Super Street article? His Supra was on E-Bay as soon as the movie aired. He sold it for 80k, I'll repeat that 80,000. Guarantee he'll do the same with the R34. He's an *******, a sellout and is bad for the scene, he should be exiled or something to that effect.

Korean cars are bad though, they should be put down, why is Daewoo no longer selling cars in the US?? Oh cause they suck. They were a good deal though...."You get a car with every purchase of a radio"

I'm on the east coast, New Jersey.

Oh, and Leiberman will NEVER be top dog...the president of Top Secret is the top dog...198mph on a public British highway in an RB powered Supra, and he got arrested for it. That's one example of a REAL import guy.

OK. Last time I checked during the introductory of the pony it was second to honda and had better time then hondas of its time but not handling. You go over to Korea and say that to the Project R Tiburon and others who are putting japanese tuners in their place. You say that to the Castrol rally team who are doing damn good. You say that to Batlord of SR. You just keep saying that and I will keep laughing.

Yes you are correct, it's all opinions, and everyone has their right to their own. I never personally bashed Craig, I just did not agree/like what he did to the car. The import scene is turning into something volatile now imo. It's like how it is between skiiers and snowboarders (ex.). Omg they are different, i hate them. I have some good freinds who like the honda scene/show scene. okay good for them, that's not my flavor, but they are still a freind. that's where you and craig are prolly at too? but its hard for everyone else who does not know craig and know him personally to know that hes "really not like that." but by just seeing what he/universal did to his new car, we all assume hes a bad guy and we bash it cuz we're jealous, envious, think its stupid, many other reasons, who knows. as for eveyone calling him a sellout, well i wont comment because i know very little about how the "scene" arose in the us. do i personally care? no, because to me the real scene started in japan LONG ago. anyways, have fun in FL.

Didn't mean to start any arguements or fights over this. But as DCMetroracing said, Craig is a good friend of ours and has helped our bussines grow since we started a year ago. He expressed his opinions on what Universal is doing with his car and the whole movie in general, which I can't discuss with you all. He is by no means a ricer and is a friend to the import community. Also I feel that the bashing that was going on was uncalled for. It's not right to bash somebody that you don't even know over anything. Like I said Criag is a friend of DCMetroracing and myself, so I didn't appriciate the comments too much.

Later...

I don't know anything about a project Tiburon, but I guarantee whatever it is, in whatever aspect of motoring, there are many cars that will rape it.

Which rally events is the Castrol team in? Not that it matters, cause the only thing the are consistantly dominating in is production gt of the SCCA pro rally, hahahahahaha. In the WRC Citreon has won more rallies, and they don't even participate full time.

What is the introductory of the pony?? And anyway being second to Honda is nothing to toot your horn about. That'd be like me saying, I came in second place to a civic today racing...

actually midnight has a point the hyundai's in korea are bad-*** somewhat of a 240sx here is to a silvia in japan. get it. however as far as new cars go for the price. the only thing that keeps me from buying the new tiberon V6 is that it is a FF. what are the choices...celica so i can be like everyone else? RSX ,,,i'd rather not be a honda boy.... Eclipse.....not this one.....Sentra spec-V maybe...i did test drive the tiboron V6 it's a nice package, good looking car, nice pickup, good suspension set-up, 6-speed transmission, infinity 350 watt stereo w/ integrated sub, 17" rims, 181 hp at just around $20,000 (nothing else comes close) oh and don't forget the warranty hyundais come with. i believe the tiberon that Midnight Brother was talking about is some 220-250HP..... i will probably never buy another new car unless some new FR comes out that i like and can reasonable afford...but honestly if the tiberon was a FR ...i'd buy it...course i'd keep my 240 also.

Yes there are many cars that are rape it but I was proving that it isn't a piece of ****. There are other tiburons that are alot faster then then Project R Tiburon but Project R (Cheuk) is the only one that posts on the BBS. His care is 9-10 sec. car without a diffrent engine from a car right now...so whatever HP rating that is. Cost less the build, buy, and total price then the skylines. There are alot of cars that will rape about every car so that statement can be said to basically anything and means nothing to me. I was talking about the introductory of the pony. Sure its not the best thing but its something that once again proves the non-****tyness if thats a word and it is something to toot your horn about. I will toot my horn nonstop. Id toot my horn if i came in second to papadakis (sp?) civic and bruces civic and lisa kubos civic. I was wrong about being faster then a civic here is the excerpt:

Quote »I got a Road&Track mag from 1985 from eBay that featured the Pony and I went crazy after reading it (at least 5 times) Also, this Pony outhandled, outperformed, and outacelerated the following imports Dacia (R12), Skoda 120, Innocenti SE,Lada Signet (my two feet can outperform that commie beast) and at the Mosport track the Pony lapped best at 2:12 (Pony GLS 1.6L) and came 2nd to Honda Civic 2:05. The bulk of the critisism went to the body roll, but despite that, the 6 drivers who drove it (and all others) said it handled well. It was overall second place for driver choice (next to honda :puzzled and in addition, in the first year of export to Canada was expected 6000 units via 50 dealers, but sold more than 20,000 via 100 dealers, and at time of printing, Pony was in 27 counties. (south america, middle east, western europe particularily england and spain)
I had everything wrong but thats still good.

Quote »The 2001 Hyundai Accent WRC², run by the Hyundai Castrol World Rally Team and competing in the 2001 World Rally Championship, was crowned the Drag King at the world famous Santa Pod Raceway in the UK.

The event in question was being filmed for the BBC Television motoring program, Top Gear and involved presenter Vicky Butler-Henderson, herself an accomplished racing driver, pitting a Nissan Skyline R34 against Alister McRae and the Accent WRC². The Nissan Skyline R34 is widely acknowledged as one of the most significant supercars of recent years and the point of the exercise was to see which of the two road-legal vehicles had the best acceleration.

Using the proven Santa Pod timing equipment, combined with the Accent WRC²’s data acquisition system, the two cars were run head to head several times, each with the same result. The Accent, piloted by McRae, was at least a full second quicker over the standing ¼ mile than the Nissan.

The results for the Accent were also exceptionally consistent, with times deviating by no more than 5/100ths of a second between runs. The best result for the Accent was 12.50 seconds, with a speed of 106mph, against the Skyline’s 13.56 sec and 96mph. The data acquisition system on the Accent WRC² also showed that the car covered the bench-mark 0-100kph sprint in 3.8 seconds, an outstanding achievement for a car that drove to the event from the team’s Milton Keynes base.

Once the timing was finished, Vicky was treated to a thrilling passenger ride, as McRae demonstrated the Accent’s ability to corner and brake, as well as accelerate in a straight line. Vicky was impressed with the performance of the car, on both tarmac and loose surfaces: “It was excellent fun. Alister did a good job of showing me what the car can do, as well as how dirty rallying can be! But the car was very impressive – it’s what all Hyundai Accents should be like”.
In wrc we they do suck oh well I actually like sebastian loebs citroen. The highest they placed EVER was 5th and its sad because the guy was driving with a broken leg. With 2 legs there should be higher numbers :(

They were dominating scca pro rally for a couple years and are ranked first and third but I don't know if thats "something to toot your horn about" I havent read or watched any coverage on scca or even know what it is besides its scca and a rally.

I'm done tooting my horn wait wait..I think i have one more -- TOOT. Ok I am now done.
