2008 X model. Has anyone put a staggered wheel setup on the X? Are there any AWD problems with this?

Your overall sizes need to be the same with the X I believe, so there could be issues.

I'm fairly new, but I've lurked some other forums awhile ago and I think the general consensus is that it messes up the transfer case.

Not 100% sure on the issue, but I think as long as the rolling diameter of the tires and the total weight of each of the wheels are the same then there isn't a problem.

This might help

Yes, believe as long as the tires are the same all around it may work. But defeats the purpose of staggering to me.

width of tires makes no difference as long as diameter is within 3%...

just running the spare donut with my G37x caused my AWD system to go into fail safe mode (AWD light stays on, car goes to rwd only) ... id stay away from a stagered setup with AWD.

yes, as long as the diameter of the tires are similar you should have no issues.
