I don't have an 04 so can't reply to what is there. However on one vehicle that I upgraded the speaker wires to I created an extra path. On it the stock wiring to the door for everything is basically molded into a piece of plastic. Would have been a royal pain to replace.

There are many flexible boots available that can be used from several of the hardware and electrical outlet stores. If this sounds similar I would go this route to avoid problems with the stock wiring for other functions such as mirrors, doors, etc. unless you are prepared to work on them all.

ou could always drill a set of holes get "3/8" smurf tube from a home depot or lowes and get a few bushings like when you penetrate a firewall with a power cable for an amplifier... just a suggestion

And basically what I was speaking about. You can also use the rubber boots used on various types of cables. There are a lot of options it is just a matter of finding the one that works best for a particular vehicle. There are lots of kits available for example to run the wires for power window retrofits on an old car.

yea i'm running the factory radio, i ended up drilling the holes, because infiniti used hard plastic connectors in the front doors instead of running the wires thru a rubber sleeve and gromet like the back doors.
