well ive been trying to save up for some coilovers but ive recently considered getting a security system first. i'd love to drop my car as soon as possible. but im only 15 and still have to wait till march to get my license. and i'd much rather know that my cars protected than lying asleep at night knowing my cars an inch off the ground. the last owner of my s13 had someone break into it and steal all his audio. my car has no protection against thieves except a little layer of glass. and the more money i put into it the more i get worried. i already have over 5 grand and im not done. so my question is to you...looks...or knowing my cars safe. i think i'll be able to get both my march. but its just a matter of which one first. heres a kit im looking into.

get a security system. it might not be such a "look at me style mod" but it's a GREAT peice of mind. once i got it installed on the coupe i feel much better about taking it places.

This question shouldn't have even been asked. If you love your car, get an alarm. Of course it's not gonna keep someone from actually stealing it, but you'll sleep better at night. If you can, get some sort of Pit Bull/Doberman/German Shepard to go along with it.

ya security first bro, unless you garage your 240, slamming it will just make it more appealing to someone that wants to steal it. Also you can get a decent viper alarm 2 way alarm for fairly cheap $200-$300. Not like your spending $1000+ on alarm....

yeah get an alarm... there is no point in putting coilovers and then have it get stolen because some one seen your car around dumped and wants it

I voted security system, however, I would prefer you buy it from me. I can match that price to make the sale!

Let me know.... I have them in stock!

I wish I had seen Toby's work before I had some stupid circuit city guys install my stereo. If I were you, I'd go straight to him.

edit: Security system for sweet dreams.

hey if you want to be cheap run over to walmart and grab a spool of speaker wire and a switch from radio shack and wire that bish right into your fuel pump and hide it somewhere. a clever thief can easily bypass it but should confuse the hell out of the majority of idiots out there. you could also pull your ignition coil out everyday thats what i used to do lol. the options are infinite.

forgot to mention the bolts that encase the ignition under the column cover. its a good idea to replace those with star pattern screws so they cant just start your car with a screw driver and flat head.

I just stared at your sig for about 5 mins But unless it's in a garage get alarm and don't show any shady people what you've done to your car besides what they can already see.

At first I thought it was a no brainer...If the person wants to take your car, they are going to take it. I'm not sure I would be able to spend $200-$300 just for piece of mind. I mean there are alot of info online to deter the person from stealing your car.

I would just buy a QR with a locking hub or something...sucks to carry around a steering wheel tho.

no its not a bad town. but if my car did ever get stolen i dont know what id do. ive put everything into this car with my hard earned money that ive been saving since i was a little kid. im 15, its not like i could just go buy another cheap 240 to work on.

My compustar 2-way was the first thing I invested in, I just got coilovers a week or two ago, this is almost 1.5 years after owning the car.

Get a good alarm system, I didnt get one for awhile and i know how you feel. Just get it so you can sleep better at night. Ive had my car broken into once for someone that wanted to steal my stereo, Now anytime i hear broken glass i walk outside with a knife and a huge wrench used for working on semi trucks (probably a 34mm size) To hopefully one day run into those b**** asses

But i mean if you live in a safe neighborhood and you know all your neighbors just get coils and slam it for now but if you are worried then get an alarm and be a little less worried.

240sx are gaining popularity EVERYDAY thus meaning there are more people WANTING to steal these cars, why would you even risk putting money into a car that could get stolen?

i have a bunch of those cheap/free security things (batt cut off, fuel cut off, ignition starter, etc, etc) but i also have a high end Clifford alarm.

if you want to keep your car, get an alarm.
