Security system started to randomly go off

I have a 2001 2WD Pathfinder with about 88,000 miles. My son told me that the security alarm has randomly starting going off over the last weeks or so. He said it's gone off maybe 3-4 times. Don't know if this is related but now when you open the drivers side door after you've shut off the ignition the car 'beeps' either 3 or 5 times. This isn't the chime like you've left the lights on or the keys in the ignition, it seems like it's beeping a diagnostic code. It's never done that before. Does anyone have any idea what that means?

is it the factory security system ?

each door jamb has a button for the door ajar light / security system, id start at those. mess around and push on all the doors and trunk and see if you can manipulate the alarm or door ajar interior lights to come on when you are pressing on a door

this is with an after market alarm

when i first got my after market alarm installed my alarm used to go off all the time. The problem was that the factory alarm was armed with the key so when I unlocked my door with the after-market keyless remote the truck thought i was opening the door from the inside and would set off the alarm. So what i had to do is unlock the door with the key to turn off the factory alarm and then unlock with the keyless remote, and everything started working in sync.hope this helps
