Security System lights not working

I have a Python 1000 alarm system and I was wondering if anyone could tell me why when I set my alarm and disengage it that the lights don't flash. They work like 1 out of every 30 times I set it. Thanks in advance.Josh

OK I'll play, what lights are you talking about. Your side lights or the alarm light? If you are talking about the pretty lights on the side of your car, check the wires going to the brain of your alarm. The standard place for car alarm brains on a 240 is under the driver side dash. The brain is usually a black box about 1" to 3 inches thick and 3 inches wide 4-5 inches long. Depending on your alarm, it should have 1-8 wire/ cable ( Cable=bunch of wires tied in using one connector)

Also check to see what mode your alarm is in. You might be in Valate (sorry about spelling) mode. To check that look for a small toggle switch. If in doubt push it to the other position. then set your alarm. A lot of installs on 240s put this on the bottom between the legs of the driver on the plastic dash. People hit them all the time and come into the shop saying their alarm is not activating.

If this is not your problem give me some more details and I will bounce it off my sidekick who does the alarm installs.

Yeah I am talking about all of the lights on the outside of the car, not the little red led light. Thanks that helps a lot, I will go check that right now and get back to you.:ylsuper
