I took my battery out of the car to charge it and when I put it back in, my security light began to flash constantly. The car still starts and runs and if I turn the key in the door, I can get the light to stop flashing if I hold the key in a certain position, but as soon as I remove the key it begins flashing again. Can anyone help with this.

It never did this before, the light would stay on for a bit when I turned the ignition off, but would then go out. So is it supposed to flash all the time? I would think that would put a bit of a drain on the battery.

It is a stock alarm, and I agree with you on it being a nice added feature for burglars to view. Talked with my local Z guy and he said it may be a bad hood pin switch or bad door switch. I thought the security module may be bad, but he said he has never had one with a bad module. I will check the switches and try resetting it again. I hate to leave it blinking just because I don't drive the car very often and I'm worried about the battery draining.

Make sure that the hood, trunk and both doors are closed properly.

Tried all of that and tried turning the key again to set the alarm, but just kept flashing. I did find that when I turn the key in the passenger door, it no longer locks or unlocks the door. Plan on removing the panel tomorrow and checking out the latch mechanism. Maybe that is where my problem is, all other switches seem to work.

On your passenger door it's probably the lil plastic piece that broke. there is a plastic piece that connects to a rod to push or pull the door lock. mine was broken on both sides but picked up the passenger side now it works. just gotta find the drivers side lol pretty simple fix tho

Ok, got it all apart and found that the little plastic piece that clips on the back of the door lock was broke and the security sensor was also dangling. After placing them next to each other again and shutting all the doors and hood, light went solid and then turned off!! Thanks for your help everyone. I found that if you want to test each security sensor before ripping everything apart, you can put the key in each lock and turn it to about 2:00. The light should go out completely but then begin flashing again when you remove the key. If you can get the light to go out while doing this on each door and hatch lock, then you probably have a bad hood sensor. Otherwise, the lock that does not turn the light off is the one with the bad sensor. Also found that the alarm will not work if the security light is flashing.
