Security light flashing IS THIS NORMAL?

I have a 2010 G37 and I just noticed that the security light on the dash is flashing about every three seconds. The car is off, doors closed but not locked. Is this normal. Should it go out after a specified time period?

In DISARMED state (doors unlocked) the Security LED should be flashing every second. When doors are closed and locked, then the security system goes into PRE-ARMED state and the LED remains steady for @ 30 seconds and then into ARMED state where the LED flashes every 2.4 second.
