I am having issues programming my keyless fob for a 2001 Nissan Pathfinder SE. I know that the remote is functional and I'm able to get the hazard lights blinking to put system in programming mode. I just can't get the hazard lights to flash when I press a button on the fob after turning the ignition to the 'ACC' position as per programming instructions.

I'm assuming that the security light blinking while doing this procedure is the problem. Any help with this would be most appreciated.

Thanks.

Start by verifying all of the door switches are intact and trigger the ceiling lamp when you actuate them with the door open.

Did you ever figure out how to solve this issue. I am having the same exact issue as you. I can get the car to go into program mode but can't get the fob to flash the hazards after turning the ignition to the 'ACC' position as per programming instructions.

No, I still do not have a functioning fob remote. However, I do believe my problem is that I have been trying to program with used fobs that I purchased on internet. I say that because after numerous attempts I finally was able to program a used fob, but only the lock button on the fob would work. Then after several days the fob stopped working altogether. And yes I was able to get a fob to program even with the security light flashing during the programming procedure.

At this point I am looking at either buying a brand new fob for my vehicle or visiting a dealer and seeing how much they want to charge to fix it. Neither option I wanted to do but at this point anything is better than locking/unlocking doors manually!

Let me know if you ever have success with your vehicle. Good luck!

Maybe I will give it a few more tries when i am done tackling a few more presses issues with my battery and fuse box wanting to melt. I have heard that you sometimes have to replace the smart entrance control box for them to work right.
However the car does go into program mode and all the other features that the box controls seem to work (that i know of) so i dont know if just that part of the internal unit that can fail requireing you to replace the whole unit or since it does go in program mode that means that the smart entrance box is doing its job correctly and your fob is the problem. I do have the right fob as I used the guide on here on "how to pick a factory remote" but they did come from ebay. Two different sellers though so i thought that lowered that chance of them both being bad fobs

What is the mfg date of your truck?

There are two different models, /01A and /A both for 2001 but based on the month your Q was manufactured. With my mfg date of 08/00 I needed Model /A.
