Do the following:
Using your fingers, pry the bottom of the vent towards you until it starts to move outward a bit. Then use a flathead screwdriver with a suitable cloth over it to pry the vent out from the side.
Then, unscrew the single screw and carefully pry the security module out starting from the side closest to the steering wheel. This is what the security module looks like (you can safely unplug this with the battery connected as long as your alarm isn't armed, which it shouldn't be if you're sitting in your PF

The color bands on the resistor appear to be brown, black, red which would indicate a 1000ohm resistor but it's quite difficult for me to tell. You can just remove this resistor and replace it with one of the proper rating for a LED of your choice, use
