Strange gremlin in the 90. When you shut the engine off, the security l-e-d blinks.

You get out of the car and lock it, and it continues blinking.

turn the key all the way to the right, opening the door and it stops.

Turn key to the left and pull the key out and it keeps blinking. So it is now blinking whenever the engine is off.

I hope this doesn't draw too much..

I haven't a clue what to fix...it's obviously something in the tumbler of the driver's side door.

The security light is suppose to bling for at least 40 seconds (if I could remeber the number correctly) before it shuts off. That is by design, however I don't know what's the technical reasoning...perhaps doing an internal "door open" check? If it continues to bling beyond 40 seconds, it means that one of the door/hood/trunk lid is ajar and the factory car alarm ( think). If the car alarm comes on, the only way to shut it off is to exit the car and use your key to unlock/lock.

FYI- When the hood is open the light blinks constantly..... When I did the plenum it was open for about 6 days and constantly blinking... Car cranked perfect...

Dont worry about it... If you want to worry about it I can run through the diagnosis in the FSM...

your security system is NOT working! When it is operating normally, the LED will stay illuminated for 30-40 seconds after all doors and trunk/ hood are closed ,then go out.If you are getting a flashing LED with doors locked and trunk/hood closed, you most likely have a defective plunger switch on the hood, trunk,or least likely, one of the doors.check each switch individually, you will find it in no time!

Agreed and Ive heard mroe than once of the hood swithc on the Q failing... If you unplug it, the system recognized the hood as closed... So unplug it and if it fixes it, golden!

under the hood, along the side, looks like a mini-plunger rubber covered boot-forgot if it is on left or right side, but you cant miss it-the hood lowers down over the switch and opens-closes the circuit.

thanks, again.
