Hey Fellow Q-45 Owners...HELP !!!!!! When I lock my 91' Q-45 with my key..the security alarm system will go off within 5-10 minutes..I have to unlock the car with my key to turn it off...at first, when this frist started, it was during those days of 100 degrees and higher...so I thought maybe it just got overheated and set off the alarm..well, this morning, it was only 69 degrees and it went offf again...I really could use some assistance with this one...thanks

Check to see that the trunk, hood and doors are closed completly.

Go here: http://www.nicoclub.com/FSM/Q45/1994_Q45/el.pdf ->Double click Theft Warning System - LAN -> Trouble Diagnosis.

O and Q45 is spelled Q45 not Q-45.

Good luck

Is the security light on, off or blinking when you lock the car? Any work done lately...new head unit, remote door opener, etc. that could have affected the wiring?

Theres about 30 pages of trouble dignostics (EL119-EL144) and every one of them involves electrcal checks with a volt meter. To compound it there's about 10-15 electrical units associated with the anti-theft system. Hopefully someone has had the exact problem and can point you in the right direction.

Yea I would bet more on the lock cylinder, Try locking the car from the passanger side see if the problem still occurs.
